Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Eventi, Rooms, and connecting with people at events.

Rooms

Learn about creating and joining social Rooms

Rooms are public social spaces where people can connect around shared activities. Each Room has a group chat where members can coordinate and get to know each other. Think of them as open invitations - whether it's 'casual drinks tonight', 'anyone want to check out this gig?', or 'road trip to the coast this weekend'.

Open the Eventi app, tap the '+' button, and select 'Create Room'. Give it a name that describes the activity, pick a location on the map, and optionally link it to an event. Your Room will be visible to others in that area who might want to join.

Yes! When creating a Room, you can link it to any event on Eventi. This is perfect for finding others who are going to the same concert, game, or festival. Event-linked Rooms appear on the event page so others attending can easily find and join.

Event-linked Rooms are tied to a specific event - great for coordinating with others attending the same show or match. Standalone Rooms are location-based activities you create yourself, like 'beach volleyball Saturday' or 'hiking group'. Both have group chats and appear on the map.

All Rooms on Eventi are public, meaning anyone can discover and join them. This is intentional - the goal is to help you meet new people with shared interests. Room creators can remove members if needed, and all users must follow our community guidelines.

Use the map view in the app to see Rooms in your area. You can filter by distance or browse event-linked Rooms on specific event pages. Rooms appear as pins on the map, making it easy to find activities happening nearby.

Events & Discovery

How event discovery works on Eventi

We aggregate events from trusted sources including Ticketmaster, local venues, and event promoters. Our goal is to surface everything happening in your area - from major concerts to local community gatherings - all in one place.

If you're an event organiser or promoter, you can submit your events to be featured on Eventi. Visit our 'Promote Your Event' page to learn more about getting your events discovered by our community.

The map shows events and Rooms happening around you. Zoom in to see more detail, or zoom out to discover what's happening across a wider area. Use filters to narrow down by category, date, or type of activity.

Eventi covers Music, Sports, Arts & Theatre, Food & Drink, Nightlife, Community, Business, and Family events. Use category filters to focus on what interests you most.

Social & Connecting

Meeting people and building connections

Join or create a Room for the event you're attending. The Room's group chat lets you coordinate meetup spots, share excitement, and get to know others before, during, and after the event. It's the easiest way to turn solo events into social experiences.

Yes! Event pages show Rooms created for that event, and you can see who has joined each Room. This helps you find your people - whether you're looking for fellow fans, a pre-game group, or just someone to share the experience with.

Every Room has a built-in group chat. Once you join a Room, you can message other members, share photos, and coordinate plans. Chats are moderated and all members must follow community guidelines to keep the space welcoming.

Your profile shows your name, photo, and bio to other Eventi users. You control what information you share. When you join a Room, other members can see your profile, which helps build trust and connection.

For Students

Questions from university students

No. Eventi is about discovering events and connecting with people who share your interests. Rooms are group-based and focused on shared experiences, not matching or dating.

Safety is built into Eventi. You can chat in Rooms before meeting, control your privacy settings, and block or report users. We recommend meeting in public event spaces. See our Community Guidelines for more.

You don't have to message first. Many people join Rooms just to see who else is going. The shared context of an event makes conversation easier when you do connect - you already have something in common.

Eventi helps you discover events - many of which are free or low-cost. Event tickets are handled by the organiser, but joining Rooms on Eventi is always free. Rooms let you connect with others going to the same event, so even if you can't afford a ticket, you might find free events or people to share costs with.

Eventi connects people through shared interests, not backgrounds. Many users are looking for the same thing you are - genuine connections through experiences. Events can be a great low-pressure way to meet people.
